About Me
About Me
I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and Morton, Illinois and spent my childhood reading books and running amok outdoors. A tomboy, I climbed trees, created really cool match box car racetracks, rode bikes and swam in any water hole or pool, ate catfish my daddy caught, but on Sunday magically transformed into a proper young lady as my father was a Southern Baptist minister. Ironically I prayed for a pony when I was five, and received the answer to that childhood prayer when I married the love of my life, Jim Thomas, who keeps me on great horses. We move cows in Challis with our border collie Buckethead in the summer and ride in our arena in Firth all winter. When I'm not teaching, I still enjoy reading and Lord help me, I'm watching Paula Deen cook, trying out her recipes, so we are always watching our weight.Sophie, my schnauzer gets the leftovers. After both of our divorces, (I was a Campbell), we blended both our families nicely and now we have four kids: Jessica, Mandy, Dano, and Spud, all of which are grown and married, except Spud who is currently enjoying college in Australia. We split our time between Challis and Firth and enjoy time spent with family and friends in both places. Life is pretty good and we laugh our way through the good times and hold on to our faith and each other through the bad. God has really blessed us.
